I have just contributed an article to the Amnesty International Australia website looking at the use of visual media in campaigning for the rights of individuals at risk

The article briefly addresses issues such as the power of images to bring individuals together, allow people to tell their own stories (including participatory techniques), the increasing availability of digital recording technology and web-based platforms, and the need to link images to campaign mechanisms for people to take action.
