The Open Society Institute has announced the winners of its Documentary Photography Project ‘Production Grant‘ for 2009.
The grant aims to support photographers from Central Asia, the Caucasus, Afghanistan and Pakistan documenting issues of social justice and human rights. Full list of winners here.

Thanks David, your link is much appreciated. I agree that there are many examples of bad practice out there in photo-activism. I have posted a more detailed comment on this on your blog. I hope that even with such pieces of work NGOs are able to do more with them than just shock some people who see them hanging in their office reception / raise a few bucks.
