Organisers decided to launch the exhibition as planned outside Drik gallery as police continued to block the gates to Drik’s premises. Chief Guest Professor Muzaffar Ahmed, chairman of Transparency International Bangladesh, inaugurated the exhibition. Drik has come under tremendous pressure to close down the photographic exhibition on Tibet. Drik has been requested by visiting representatives from the Chinese Embassy and officers from the Bangladesh Police Special Branch to cancel the exhibition. The week-long exhibition, “Into Exile: Tibet 1949 – 2009″ is schedule to be launched today in Drik Gallery. Dhaka, Bangladesh. November 1, 2009.
